This is Richard and Anado. One of the highlights of my Pilgrimage in Paint was to visit their home, just outside of San Miguel de Allende.
Yeah, as if Mexico and San Miguel weren't colorful enough, along comes Anado and adds his two cents! Anado is an assemblage artist who, along with a collection of rescued dogs, sweet little burros, and his husband Richard, has created this magic-filled, crazy-beautiful, mosaic-patchwork world (that I want to live in!). Of COURSE I am inspired! These guys are my color soulmates, as my daughters would attest to. I painted a multi-colored spiral snake and a giant lizard on the floors of our Oakridge house! My old condo living room was a mini-Oaxaca color splendor, with alebrije lizards climbing up the wall. My current studios are raspberry, happy ochre, purple and green. Now I just need to learn how to do mosaic. Watch out, Robbie, the den is NEXT!
