Too much fun!

On the east side of the Willamette River, Portland skyline behind us.
Oh my gosh, SO FUN!  At first you think you're going to fall over, but you don't - you just zoom!  Such a fun way to get around town and see the sights, even if it's your own town.

3. Today: Monoprinting with Gelli plate!  Slab on some paint, add textures or stenciling, press paper on top and voila!  Add more layers - yeehaw!

Don't know if you can see it in the photo, but the rust color looks like shiny copper in real life - maybe because I added GAC polymer to the paint.

This may have been my favorite experiment: I started to draw on the face using the other end of a paint brush, but it skipped a lot so I ended up finger painting the face.  They I sprayed with water before printing.

Next I printed the ghost of the image onto a paper on which I had already applied many layers of paint and texture.

More experimenting with spraying water onto the plate and then printing.  I like the starry sky effect!

Landscapey - The "mountain" in the background was a ghost print with a lot of water spritzed on the plate, then I added more paint onto the plate and scraped with a texture tool.

I think I'll be scanning these and printing onto tissue paper to layer up some collages for artist trading cards.  More fun to come!
