A new doll for the Dia de los Muertos show at Cactus Gallery in Eagle Rock, California. The show will run from Oct. 8th through Nov. 8th.
Believe it or not, she started off as a Frida doll with a rather silly face.
I decided she would be a great candidate for experimenting with catrina make-up. It was quite engrossing doing all the detail work - fun!
I found a perfectly sized shadow box at Michael's and decided to give her a shrine-like environment, sort of like I have done for my Day of the Dead altars here at home.
The doll is removable from the box, and the skeleton is removable from the doll.
I am so happy with the way she turned out! I'm hoping some collector will come along and decide to take her home.

Oo la la! She's got fancy feet, too! |
